Manawatu Lawn Bowls Trophy stays at Palmerston North

Palmerston North Bowling Club retained the Harris Stars with a convincing 26-11 win
over challengers Hokowhitu on Saturday, October 22.

After claiming fours on the first and seventh ends, PN had broken out to
a 15-6 lead by the 12th end. Hokowhitu staged a mini recovery and
narrowed the gap to 15-10, but a strong finish by PN closed out
proceedings on the 20th and penultimate end.

The Harris Stars is a Bowls Manawatu challenge that involves two seniors and two two-year players
in each team.

The teams were: Palmerston North – Bob Williams (skip), Eric Cairncross,
Robert Thomson and Michael Bowey; Hokowhitu – Peter Harris (skip),
Gerald Gregory, Will Inman and Ken Wong.

The next challenge is from Woodville.
