Finalists have to pay their way to Invercargill

Those bowlers fortunate enough to win their zone playoffs in the national club championships in March are in for a big shock – they will have to travel to Invercargill for the national finals at their own expense.

When Bowls New Zealand re-introduced the competition in 2011 after a 12-month absence they did so on the express understanding that the national finalists would pay all their own travel, accommodation and meals, except lunch.
